Experiences: Triumph

Projects > Africa > Ghana > Triumph

Hi, my name is Nancy Borowick and I spent this past April and May 2008 at the Triumph International School in Mowire, Ghana.

I had an unbelievable experience there and the family that I lived with was so amazing and generous and I want to give back. The Oduro's have put everything they have into their school and have taken children into their home for the sake of a better education. They really made an impression on me and on my life and now that I am back in the US I want to put together a fundraiser for them, for the school.

I'm a photographer and while I was there, aside from taking hundreds of my own photographs, I brought cameras with me to the school and taught the children photography. The photography project that I did with the students was really great, giving them a chance to express themselves creatively, something they do not often have the chance to do in school or in their everyday lives.
